Having learned my lesson last year (being totally knocked out by attempting the most difficult level on Day #1, only because it was the only level remaining to book!) I got in faster this year and booked myself and my cousin, Peta, onto Level 1 of the Competa Walking Festival. Lovely to meet up again with friendly familiar faces from 2025.

Oh, dear. Then it all went wrong for me! A nasty blister on Day 1 under big toe, and trying to push through on Day 2, meant that I put too much compensating strain elsewhere in the body, and by Day 3 various leg and back muscles were screaming at me. So the final two days were wiped out for me. However, my intrepid cousin continued and managed the whole festival; and the links below to photo albums are shots provided by Sheila Gallagher, who was our steady and reliable backstop for all four walks. Not my photos, not my hikes, but part of the experience!

Below: me feeling rather fraudulent with my medal as I'd only completed two out of the four hikes!
